First Friday venue Rochester Contemporary also will reveal sold “6x6” artists online Friday.

You'll find a separate calendar full of July 4th civic events on the Democrat and Chronicle website. Here are 10 other things to do:

1 BLU Bar & Grill will hold an '80s Backyard BBQ on Saturday. Seeking Monte will perform original modern rock at 8 p.m., then DJ Mikey D will play 1980s hits starting at 9. The Gates Fourth of July fireworks, which will begin at 10 p.m., will be visible from BLU's backyard. Admission is $3. Food, which will include ribs, chicken kebabs, hot dogs and other barbecue food with BLU's signature twist, costs extra. BLU is at 250 Pixley Road, Gates. For more information, call (585) 247-1179.

2 The Center for Disability Rights Film Festival will feature two movies Monday to celebrate the Americans With Disabilities Act. Endless Abilities and Rory O'Shea Was Here will be shown from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Cinema Theatre, 957 S. Clinton Ave.

3 Citywide gallery night First Friday runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Participating venues include Rochester Contemporary, Gallery R, Cat Clay, Anderson Alley Artists and Dichotomy Rochester, which just opened at 14 Franklin St. downtown (previously, it was on Park Avenue). The event is free. A sidenote: On Friday, RoCo also will reveal online the identities of artists behind the sold "6x6" works. For more, go to firstfridayrochester.org.

4 The RPO's Patriotic Salute with Ward Stare starts at 8 p.m. Friday at Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center in Hopewell near Canandaigua. The orchestra, led by Stare, will present a concert of patriotic favorites. Putting an exclamation point on the evening: a fireworks display over the CMAC lawn. Tickets are $10 to $39. Buy them at ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.

5 The Western New York Flash has a home game against the Seattle Reign at 7 p.m. Friday at Sahlen's Stadium. Tickets are $10 to $30. For more, go to wnyflash.com or call (585) 454-5425.

6 After a rough opening weekend — vandals destroyed most of the set and setup last weekend — Shakespeare in the Bowl continues at 8 p.m. Friday when the Shakespeare Players of Rochester (of the Rochester Community Players) present Henry IV Part II in Highland Bowl. Part II also will be staged at 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 p.m. Wednesday; Part I will be staged at 8 p.m. Tuesday. A complete schedule of performances, which run through July 18, can be found at rochestercommunityplayers.org. The performances are free, but donations are welcome.

7 A First Friday reception is being held for the exhibit "Hello World: Recent Work from the RIT School of Design," from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Gallery R, 100 College Ave., in Rochester. Students from the College of Imaging Arts & Sciences School of Design will display graphic, 3-D digital, industrial, new media and visual communication works. For more, go to galleryr.rit.edu or call (585) 256-3312.

8 Tango Café is celebrating one year at its 35 S. Washington St. location downtown with a party starting at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. A cash bar will be open until 2 a.m. (though the party will go until 3 a.m.) Included in the $15 cover: hot and cold appetizers and music. In the first-floor ballroom, a DJ will spin old and new salsa music, bachata, kizomba and merengue; upstairs you'll find an '80s disco party. (You can step outside at 10 p.m. to catch the city's fireworks display.) For more, go to tangocafedance.com or call (585) 271-4930.

9 The Tragically Hip (a Canadian version of R.E.M., only louder, is the way the D&C's Jeff Spevak describes it) has an 8 p.m. show Saturday at CMAC near Canandaigua. Tickets are $32.95 to $96.80 and can be bought at ticketmaster.com, cmacevents.com, or by calling (800) 745-3000.

Kenny Chesney, usually summer’s biggest concert draw, returns to CMAC Wednesday, July 8.

10 The last time Kenny Chesney played CMAC, in 2013, he sold out the amphitheater, drawing a record 14,638 fans. The country superstar returns to the venue near Canandaigua with his Big Revival Tour at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Jake Owen and Chase Rice are the openers. Tickets — still available at press time — are $25 to $85 at ticketmaster.com, cmacevents.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.
