H.S. Boys’ Basketball: Dragons stave off SVA

Stuart Hall used a big fourth quarter outburst Tuesday night as the Dragons staved off the Shenandoah Valley Academy Stars 76-66 in nonconference boys’ basketball.

The Dragons led 36-24 at halftime, but the Stars outscored the home team 24-16 in the third quarter to close the gap to 52-48. Stuart Hall scored 24 fourth-quarter points to keep SVA at bay and secure the victory.

Adam Pickett sparked the Dragons with 45 points, while Colin Whitmore netted 22 points, including five 3-pointers.

Stuart Hall (2-1) returns to action Thursday at Covenant School to wrap up the Dragons’ pre-Thanksgiving schedule.
