Garden Grove police were working with the FBI to find an armed bank robber who jumped over the counter at U.S. Bank branch and demanded money from two tellers before fleeing Wednesday.

The man entered the branch at 12112 Valley View St. (map) just before 1:40 p.m. and drew out a semi-automatic handgun, according to a news release from the Garden Grove Police Department.

Firearm in hand, he demanded money from one teller, then jumped across the counter and started emptying her till while yelling at another teller.

The robber then moved to the other teller’s workstation, took her cash and fled, leaving northbound through the parking lot on foot. No vehicle was seen or heard, according to police.

The bank robber was described as an Asian man in his 20s wearing a white T-shirt with black sleeves and a baseball cap.

Any witnesses who saw the man fleeing were asked to call police at 714-741-5704.
