PespiCo is closing its West Chester warehouse, the beverage company said Thursday.

The majority of its approximately 70 employees have been offered other positions within the company, PepsiCo said in a statement.

The warehouse is expected to shut down this week.

The West Chester warehouse joins a list of other PepsiCo facilities that have either closed or stopped production this year, including facilities in Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Maine and Virginia. A warehouse in Binghamton, N.Y. was scheduled to close this month.

The closure "will allow us to improve efficiency, fund future investments and be more competitive," PepsiCo said.
