LIVING IN FEAR: Sally Ann [REX ]

Fans have seen unstable Jenny Bradley become obsessed with boyfriend Kevin Webster’s young son Jack – and this week she plans to kidnap him.

Viewers will finally discover her dark secret during a showdown with Maddie Heath, played by Amy Kelly.

Maddie catches her wearing a wig after packing for her new life with toddler Jack away from the street.

Sally Ann, 44, said the reaction from viewers online had been full-on and left her scared to go out in public alone.

She said: “I don’t know if it would be safe to walk down the street sometimes.

“People have posted messages saying ‘I absolutely hate her’ and ‘I want to give her a good slap’.

“The messages were vile. They all think my character is a nutter and psycho. It’s a bit overwhelming.

“You never know what to make of things like that because some people really believe the stuff they watch on TV.

“They think you’re your character. So I was a bit nervous reading them.”

Sally Ann originally appeared in Corrie in the 1990s as the feisty foster child of Rita.

But since she has been back on the street they have not yet come to blows.

She said: “I don’t think people were expecting this kind of storyline.

Everybody thought it’d be centred on my character and Rita but we haven’t really touched on that. It’s been nice to do something that’s surprised people.”

Jenny has returned to the show as Kevin’s online lover.

It was Michael Le Vell’s first major storyline since being cleared of sex abuse charges.

Sally Ann said: “We’ve really enjoyed working together so far.

He looked more relaxed because it was me he was working with, I think.

He knew he could trust me.” She added: “It has been like discovering a long lost brother.

“It’s totally different now to how it was when I was on the show before.

“There are about eight or nine actors still there and lots of crew from way back when.

I’m having the best time ever.”

Sally Ann will be speaking at The Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival later this year.

Viewers can watch all the drama in an explosive week of Corrie, which ends in the biggest fire the street has ever seen, from tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
