SHREWSBURY, New Jersey – The Marist women's tennis team recorded a 7-0 road triumph against Monmouth in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match on Monday. The victory enabled the Red Foxes to a clinch a berth in this weekend's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.
The Red Foxes did not drop a set in any of the six singles matches, and lost a total of just four games in the three doubles matches. At fourth singles, sophomore Callie Morlock led the way with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph.
Marist closes out the regular season with a record of 5-3 in MAAC competition, and 5-12 overall. Monmouth is now 2-5 in the MAAC and 3-14 overall.
Marist will the #4 seed in the MAAC Championships, which will open on Saturday, April 25 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, New Jersey. The Red Foxes will take on top-seeded Quinnipiac. The championship match will be held on Sunday, April 26. Match times will be announced at a later date.
