Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A/Tampa Bay Rays) will open up the 2015 Midwest League season as one of the favorites on the circuit. On Wednesday, the club announced their start-times for the regular season that begins on Saturday, April 18 against the Lake County Captains. Opening Night will begin at 6:05 p.m., but more day games and earlier week-day start times highlight this year's calendar. For the first time in franchise history, kids will run the bases following nearly every home game thanks to an expanded partnership with the J.M. Smucker Company.

"Providing a family-friendly environment is one of our top priorities, and we're thrilled to team up about our expanded partnership with the J.M. Smucker Company," said Hot Rods Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Adam Nuse. "Kids will have the opportunity to feel like a professional baseball player by running the bases, and we feel our earlier mid-week start time better reflects the demands on parents' schedules as well."

All evening games in the April and May will start at 6:35 p.m., giving fans an extra half-hour to get home and prepare for the next day. Mid-week times switch to 7:05 p.m. in June, but the 2015 calendar sees a sharp increase in day games. While every Sunday contest begins at 2:05 p.m., three Education Days are set for 10:35 a.m., and three splash days will get underway at 12:05 p.m. once school concludes.

The Hot Rods set a Bowling Green Ballpark two-day attendance record on Fourth of July weekend this past season, and they'll look to top the feat on Saturday, July 4 this upcoming season. The South Bend Silver Hawks will be in town for Independence Day festivities as well as Sunday, July 5.

In conjunction with the release of game times, the Hot Rods are also pleased to announce the broadened and extended partnership between the team and the J.M. Smucker Company. The Smucker's Uncrustables Fun Run occurred after every Sunday home game in 2014, but the Fun Run will take place following every home game in 2015. This means kids can run the same path as their favorite Hot Rods player, and get even closer to the professionals.

Season tickets for the 2015 season are available now, and they can be purchased for as little as $90. While Opening Night is set for Saturday, April 18, the Hot Rods will host Western Kentucky University in an exhibition game on Tuesday, April 7. Plans offer numerous exclusive benefits and provide the greatest flexibility. For more information on the club and to secure your seats for the 2015 season, fans can logon to BGHotRods.com, call 270-901-2121, or visit the Bowling Green Ballpark box office.
