European commercial vehicle registrations up 8.3 percent in February

In February this year, new commercial vehicle registrations increased by 8.3 percent year on year in the European Union, totaling 135,778 units compared to February 2014, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). Looking at the major markets, in February Spain (+29.5 percent), the UK (+19.4 percent), Italy (+8.7 percent) and Germany (+one percent) posted increases, while new commercial vehicle registrations in France decreased by 4.3 percent, all on year-on-year basis.

In the first two months of this year, new commercial vehicle registrations totaled 278,376 units, up eight percent on year-on-year basis. Spain (+27.7 percent), the UK (+21.9 percent), Italy (+5.2 percent) and Germany (+3.1 percent) recorded increases, though France saw a seven percent decrease in commercial vehicle registrations compared to the same period last year.
