True to their word, Bell is now carrying the new Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and customers will not only benefit from the beautiful Xperia Z3 Compact, but also will get a free digital copy of the PlayStation 4 game, DriveClub – a $69.99 value, as well as access to watch Amazing Spider-Man 2, Ghostbusters and Captain Philips…a Bell exclusive.  The smartphone will be available only in White or Black on Bell’s website, but you can also order the Green and Orange model on Sony’s website.  It will cost you $79.95 on a two-year term or $549.95 off-contract or no-term through Bell, however, at the Sony website, expect to pay $599.99.

Sony announced the Xperia Z3 Compact at the IFA Berlin, the same time as its big brother, the Z3.  The Z3 Compact is a mini-flagship with specs very similar to the Z3, but concessions were made a few places.  The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and backed up with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.  The display is a 4.6-inch Sony Triluminous HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.  It sports the same 20.7MP main camera with some interesting software optimizations.  Powering the Z3 Compact is a 2600mAh battery and running the device you will find Android 4.4.4 KitKat.  It also benefits from the dust and waterproofing of the Xperia Z3.

Where the Xperia Z3 Compact differs from the Z3 is – the display is 5.2-inches and a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 3GB of RAM and battery size.  The Sony STAMINA mode, available on both devices, shuts down parts of the phone when idle to extend the battery life…Sony claims two days of service between charges.

It is really nice to see Sony making a real effort this time around with their Xperia Z3 series to expose more of the world to its fine devices.  Sony has always designed a beautiful looking smartphone with great build quality…the only problem has been in distributing them.  This is the first time in a while (if ever) that the U.S. and Canada will be receiving a Sony device close to the rest of the world.  Usually, by the time it got to us it was already last year’s news and nobody was interested.  Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you will be picking up the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact…as always, we would love to hear from you.
