Achieving More with Acadia Windows & Doors

Celebrating Manufacturing Day and National Disability Employment Awareness Month

The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) celebrated Manufacturing Day at Acadia Windows and Doors in Rosedale on October 3, 2014. An annual event that occurs on the first Friday of October, Manufacturing Day is an occasion during which North American manufacturers open their doors to showcase the potential of modern manufacturing and foster interest in manufacturing careers.

Lieutenant Governor Anthony G. Brown and Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger were amongst those who toured Acadia Windows and Doors and learned about their renovation and new construction window and door business, which serves the Mid-Atlantic region and East Coast of the United States. It was also an opportunity to support Acadia for their disability employment advocacy during October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month, as employees with developmental disabilities make up 10% of Acadia Windows and Doors’ workforce.

“Acadia is a little company that’s able to do great things because of our partnership with The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region,” says Acadia’s VP of Manufacturing, Neill Christopher. “Our employees from The Arc NCR have made our company even better.”
