Possible scam call posing as Raymond James Financial

Ohio

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton Raymond James Financial Office has reported a possible telephone scam spoofing one of its phone extension numbers.

Branch Manager Shane Pyle said a Coshocton resident contacted the office Thursday about receiving an automated message on lowering her credit card rate. The phone number appeared on her caller ID as the local Raymond James office. The office is not making such calls, Pyle said.

The woman didn’t give any information, Pyle said, and the incident was reported to the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone else receiving such a call should call the sheriff’s office at 740-622-2411 to report it.

Pyle cautions against anyone giving out personal information after receiving such a call. He said all personal information regarding company clients is secure and has not been compromised. He said a Raymond James representative would never ask for personal information they already posses in client files.
