Revenue for the second quarter fell 19% to $52.7 million from $64.9 million a year ago, due to lower sales in the company's Unmanned Aircraft Systems segment.

Cubic said the 2014 operating income was positively impacted by higher margins from increased sales in the U.K., Australia, and the U.S. Increased international sales of air combat training systems also boosted operating profit. Meanwhile the prior year's results were hurt by impairment charges of $50 million.

Revenues for the quarter were $396.4 million compared with $340.8 million in the prior year. Analysts estimated revenues of $390.5 million for the quarter.

17. Ctrip.com International Ltd (CTRP), a travel service provider of accommodation reservation, said Tuesday its third-quarter net earnings declined to 217 million yuan from 373 million yuan last year.

On a US dollar basis, net income for the quarter was $35 million or $0.22 per American depositary share, or ADS. This compares with a profit of $0.40 per ADS last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.36 per ADS, compared with $0.51 per ADS a year ago.
