One person reportedly dies after East Huntingdon accident

The sport utility vehicle Delores June Heard was driving when she lost control and crashed at the Countryside Plaza in East Huntington on May 18, 2015, killing a man in the parking lot of the shopping center. Heard has been charged with homicide by vehicle.

Two vehicles collided in the parking lot of Countryside Plaza in front of the Sherwin Williams Store in East Huntington at 3:33 p.m. Monday.

According to Westmoreland County 911, state police at Greensburg, East Huntingdon Volunteer Fire Department, Mutual Aid EMS, Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department and Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. An emergency helicopter was called and flew an injured person to a Pittsburgh Hospital.

The Allegheny County Coroner's Office reported Joseph Soforic, 52, died at 5:38 p.m. No further information was available by press time from state police.
