Germany's benchmark DAX index declines

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday declined slightly by 0.72 percent and closed at 12,035.86 points.

As the Fed will publish its meeting minutes and the listed companies in the United States are about to publish their earnings, investors at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange developed a sentiment of risk aversion, according to local analysts.

The top risers were lackluster with Deutsche Lufthansa AG recovering by 1.8 percent and adidas AG advancing by 0.6 percent. K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a supplier of standard and speciality fertilizers, climbed 0.18 percent. Commerzbank AG and Merck KGaA, a chemical, pharmaceutical and life sciences company, each rose by 0.08 percent and 0.05 percent.

BMW AG led the fallers' list, down by 1.44 percent. Daimler AG slipped by 1.33 percent. Both Deutsche Telekom AG and Beiersdorf Aktiengesellschaft, a personal care company, lost 1.27 percent. The utilities company E.ON SE went down by 1.23 percent.

The turnover stood at 3.25 billion euros (3.51 billion U.S. dollars). Daimler AG continued to be the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 360.86 million euros. (1 euro = 1.08 U.S. dollars) Endit
