He was born on March 8, 1945, in Yakima to Gerald “Pete” and Patricia Many and graduated from Shadle Park High in 1963.

At an early age Jerry discovered the great outdoors, which led to his lifelong passions of hunting and fishing and helped to create numerous friendships and an encyclopedia of stories which were nothing short of legendary.

Jerry never missed an opening day of hunting or fishing season for over 50 years.

He spent many a day in the wheat draws outside of Colfax or fishing with his buddies at Loon Lake.

After discovering Thoroughbreds, he and his wife Carol raced at Playfair, Yakima Meadows and Longacres.

Their many horses won the Belle Roberts Handicap, Seafair Queen Stakes and Washington Oaks under the stable name of One to Many Stables and the Friendship Stables.

The Manys also bred I’maknightschoice, who won the All West Fillies Futurity at Playfair in 1994.
