Police seek Miami Twp. bank robber

UPDATE @ 4:30 p.m.:

Police are seeking a bank robber who held up First Financial Bank just after 3 p.m. this afternoon.

The bank robbery suspect — described as a white man in his mid-40s who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 270 pounds — handed a note to a teller demanding cash at the bank located at 2891 West Alex Bell Road., according to Miami Twp. police.

“The suspect here was not covering his face with a mask in anyway,” said Miami Twp. police Sgt. Jason Kramer. “He was clearly a white male in his 40s. He was wearing sunglasses, a winter-style gray hat and blue jeans.”

No weapon was shown, and the suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. A police K-9 tried to track him, but was unsuccessful.

Customer Larry Brame was inside the bank, but said he didn’t even realize the bank was being robbed.

“If she (the teller) would have flinched, said something, even blinked hard … the two of us would have grabbed the guy for sure,” Brame said. “He wouldn’t have got out of here. Not without a good fight.”

It’s the second bank robbery this week in the area around Ohio 741 in Miami Twp., but police say surveillance video shows it’s not the same suspect.

On Tuesday afternoon, a suspect told a teller he had a gun and demanded cash at the Huntington Bank on Springboro Pike.

Anyone with information in either bank robbery is urged to call Miami Twp. police at 937-225-4357.
