Bloomberg reported last week that Motorola Solutions Inc MSI was considering a sale, noting that private-equity firms, Raytheon Company RTN, Honeywell International Inc. HON, and General Dynamics Corporation GD were all potential suitors.
In his morning update, JP Morgan analyst Rod Hall said that Motorola Solutions has found it “tough to grow” its business and a sale isn’t surprising. Ultimately, it will positively impact the stock, which JP Morgan has a Neutral rating on.
Bloomberg also stated that a sale isn’t imminent and that the process has been under way for “several months.”
Motorola Solutions is up more than 6 percent in pre-market trading, eliminating year-to-date declines.
