Reliability Solutions trains at NSU

Staff Reports

NATCHITOCHES – Employees from six different plants from three divisions of Weyerhaeuser in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas participated in a training session led by Reliability Solutions using Northwestern State University facilities last week. The program is part of an agreement in which NSU provides facilities and support for RS, a company that delivers training tailored to the specific needs of manufacturing companies.

In exchange for the use of facilities, NSU maintenance technician Kyle Rachal is auditing the session as part of an understanding between the university and RS. The initiative aligns with NSU’s efforts to match a trained workforce with high-paying jobs available in high tech manufacturing.

“The Department of Engineering Technology looks forward to growing the relationship between Reliability Solutions and supporting manufacturing sectors in central Louisiana,” said Dr. Ali Ahmad, head of the Department of Engineering Technology.

More classes are schedule to take place in early 2015 with different companies participating.
