After quite a few weeks of waiting, Blizzard is now rolling out today, March 24, the next major update for Heroes of the Storm, which brings a new hero, a new battleground, extra character levels, the Team League mode, not to mention many performance and interface enhancements to the multiplayer game.

Blizzard presented its Heroes of the Storm multiplayer online battle arena title last year as a closed technical alpha stage and rolled out the closed beta experience earlier this year, while allowing more and more people to play the title or buy into the testing process through the Founder's Pack.

The next big patch for HotS is now live in the Americas region

Now, the next major update for Heroes of the Storm has just gone live, in the form of the March 24 one, which brings a wide variety of enhancements, currently only to the Americas region of the game. Those in Europe will get it tomorrow, March 25, after their planned maintenance period, while those in Asia will have to wait until March 26.

The full changelog for the update has been made available on the official website and it's filled with new features, such as a new hero and a battleground, but also enhancements to the game's performance or its user interface.

A new hero, a new battleground, and much more are included

Among the key new things of the latest patch is Sylvanas, the latest hero that joins the ever-increasing roster of the title. She can use different abilities, traits, and skills to take out her foes, not to mention possess enemy minions to fight for her.

There's a new battleground called Tomb of the Spider Queen that introduces a fresh objective of collecting gems and using them to spawn webweavers, which attack the other team.

Blizzard also allows players to take heroes beyond the former level cap of 10, up to 20, adding new gold rewards along the way. There's also a new Team League mode that offers a kind of ranked experience different from the Hero League one, as players can form teams and go up against others through the matchmaking system.

As always, a huge array of other changes are also included, so check out the changelog below.
