CALGARY- After eight hours, Calgary Police and its tactical team appear to be leaving the scene but police have yet to confirm that.
Two men were seen exiting the residence and police say one person is in custody.
Initially, police tried to enter the home but then learned there are firearms inside.
The standoff started at the northwest Calgary home in the community of Panorama Hills Saturday morning, after reports of an assault.
At around 10:30 am a person driving in the neighbourhood saw an injured man and woman on the side of the road that needed help, so they called police. The woman suffered a broken nose and the man has a broken arm.
The woman and man, both in their 20’s, say their male roommate assaulted them with a baseball bat.
Police continue to try to make contact with the suspect inside the house and resolve the situation peacefully.
Police have not released any details about the suspect.
The injured man and woman have been helped by medical staff and were on scene talking to police.
