PepsiCo to Sell Juices via E-Commerce

Beverage and snack company PepsiCo is about to shake things up. The company is planning to break into retail by selling its premium snacks and drinks exclusively through e-commerce platforms in India, according to reports.

"We have a significant portfolio of high-end global brands which many Indian consumers are already familiar with. We are working out plans to make these brands available exclusively through e-commerce in India," Vipul Prakash, VP for marketing at PepsiCo India, told ET. "It's work in progress.”
 
Through online platforms, the company will sell its Tropicana juices, as well as Doritos and Tostitos tortilla chips, crackers and rolls. Each of these company's brands generate around $2 billion in annual global sales. The company's beverages, Pepsi and Mountain Dew, as well as snacks brands Lay's and Kurkure are currently being sold through BigBasket.com, AaramShop.com and LocalBanya.com grocery portals. The company will also launch high-priced varieties of its snacks including Lay's and Kurkure.
