Daiwa Securities Group Inc.’s second-quarter profit rose 4.4 percent as an increase in underwriting fees and trading income made up for a drop in brokerage commissions.

Net income climbed to 37.1 billion yen ($340 million) for the three months ended Sept. 30, the company said in a statement in Tokyo today. The result beat the 34 billion-yen average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
