The Lego Movie follows a Lego construction worker who is recruited to help stop an evil tyrant after being mistaken as "the Special", who was named in an ancient prophecy as saviour of the world.

The animated movie featured the vocal talents of many A-list stars including Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks.

The Lego Movie debuted at number one in the US box office, earlier this year, holding the top spot for three consecutive weekends.

Lord and Miller previously directed comedy 21 Jump Street and its 2014 follow-up 22 Jump Street.

The pair also wrote and helmed 2009's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

The Lego Movie sequel is due to be released on May 26, 2017.
