Complete with director's chair. Like a BOSS.

We all know that Selma director, Ava DuVernay, is badass (and would be an awesome choice to direct the Black Panther movie. Hint, hint, Marvel!). Well, Mattel seems to agree, and has selected DuVernay to have a special Barbie as one of six “Sheroes” in a special line honoring powerful, talented women!

The other Sheroes are Lucky Magazine’s Eva Chen, country singer Trisha Yearwood, actress Emmy Rossum, Broadway and TV/film actress Kristin Chenoweth, and Sydney “Mayhem” Keiser, a five-year-old designer.

Check out how boss DuVernay looks sitting in her director’s chair:

If anyone deserves to be a role model for little girls, it’s DuVernay.  She’s the first black woman to have a film nominated for an Academy Award, and she’s one of the few women directing mainstream film period. Sadly, these dolls aren’t available to the public. So, apparently we’ll all just have to show our little girls these pictures and say See? THIS is someone you should look up to! This is the kind of person you should try to be.
