Total lets CLOV subsea contract to FMC

-- Total Exploration & Production Angola let a contract worth $520 million to FMC Technologies Inc. for the manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment for the four-field, deepwater CLOV development off Angola (OGJ, Aug. 16, 2010, Newsletter).

FMC will provide 36 subsea trees, wellheads, and controls as well as eight manifolds, two workover systems, and associated tooling and equipment.

Deliveries are to start in 2012. Total expects the complex, in 1,100-1,400 m of water 140 km from Luanda, to start producing oil in 2014. The Block 17 fields are Cravo, Lirio, Orquidea, and Violeta.
