Dolby Atmos enabled AVRs and speakers will bring Dolby Atmos Blu-ray from Paramount Japan G.K. to life in home theaters

Tokyo, October 17, 2014-Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) subsidiary Dolby Japan K.K. today announced that Paramount Japan G.K.'s Blu-ray™ release of Transformers/Lost Age (original English title: Transformers: Age of Extinction) featuring a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack will be available for home theater enthusiasts on December 10, 2014, in Japan.

Paramount Japan G.K. is among the many studios in Japan to show support for Dolby Atmos via Blu-ray Disc™, following previously announced regional titles including the NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan LLC Blu-ray release of Nature on November 6, 2014 (original English title: Enchanted Kingdom) and Pony Canyon, Inc.'s Blu-ray release of Transcendence on December 2, 2014.

Consumers will be able to experience Dolby Atmos home theater products at leading home theater retailers such as AVAC Corporation and Bic Camera Inc. More locations are expected as additional products are introduced into the market throughout the year.

Manufacturers that have announced Dolby Atmos A/V receivers or preprocessors include Denon, Integra, Marantz, Onkyo, Pioneer, Steinway Lyngdorf, Trinnov Audio, and Yamaha. Manufacturers developing Dolby Atmos enabled speakers and add-on modules include Atlantic Technology, Definitive Technology, KEF, Onkyo, Pioneer USA, Teufel, and Triad Speakers. Onkyo also announced a Dolby Atmos equipped home-theater-in-a-box (HTIB) solution. Silicon providers Analog Devices, Inc., Cirrus Logic, and Texas Instruments have developed chips in support of Dolby Atmos home theater A/V receivers and processors. Additional manufacturers that have committed to delivering future Dolby Atmos products include Datasat, Emotiva Audio Corp, Outlaw Audio, Storm Audio, and Now Hear This (NHT).
