BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) — A former New Hampshire teacher has started serving a two-to-four-year sentence in prison on child pornography charges.

Scott Buatti reported to Rockingham County sheriff after the state Supreme Court rejected his appeal of his conviction of 10 counts of child pornography possession.

Buatti was a teacher and coach at Timberlane Middle School. The Eagle-Tribune reports he had been free on bail pending his appeal. He was sentenced in June 2011.

Buatti was arrested in 2008 and later resigned from the school. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents identified Buatti as a paid subscriber to a website containing child pornography, but he denied being a subscriber. He said he never knowingly viewed child pornography and blamed computer viruses for downloading the material to his home computer.
