Symantec Corp. (SYMC) Jumped On Reports Of Possible Split Into 2 Companies

Media reports began to circulate after the close Tuesday that Symantec Corp. (SYMC) is in advanced talks to split its business into two companies. One would be focused on security programs and the other on data storage.

Symantec gapped open higher Tuesday and rose above the session's range in late trade. The stock finished up by 0.82 at $24.01 on above average volume. Symantec jumped to nearly a 2-week high.
