Blackhawks agree to terms with Colgate star Kyle Baun

Colgate junior right wing Kyle Baun hasn't played a professional game and yet he will bring an NHL playoff legacy with him when he joins the Chicago Blackhawks this week.

Baun, 22, is the grandson of former NHL defenseman Bobby Baun, who is best remembered for playing on a broken leg for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1964 Stanley Cup Final. Bobby Baun also played for the Oakland Seals and Detroit Red Wings. Kyle agreed to terms with the Blackhawks on Thursday.

With 39 goals and 40 assists in 113 college games, Baun was considered one of the top college free agents available. He will play for the Blackhawks before the end of the regular season.

Baun has agreed to a two-year deal, and one of those seasons will be eliminated when he plays this season, He is 6-2, 205 pounds, and he is considered a highly-competitive athlete. More than half of the league's teams were interested in signing him.
