Thor sets record for sales, earnings

ELKHART -- Thor Industries said Thursday it set a record for sales and earnings in the third quarter.

Net income for the quarter increased 15 percent to $63.6 million from $55.1 million in the same period last year. Sales rose 12 percent to $1.17 billion from $1.05 billion in the third quarter a year prior.

Elkhart-Based Thor Industries, combined with all of its subsidiaries, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of recreational vehicles and is one of Elkhart County’s largest employers.
