This is 1000FPS Slow-Mo Shot with the Sony RX100 IV Compact Camera

1000fps slow motion shooting has traditionally been something found only in high-end, professional-grade cameras, but it’s beginning to appear in the world of consumer compact cameras. Last month, Sony announced its new RX100 IV, which boasts 1000fps capabilities in a $948 compact camera.

Photographer David Candlish got a chance to play with a pre-release RX100 IV yesterday, and he shot the 40x slow motion clip seen above that shows what the RX100 IV is capable of. The camera was handheld and a couple of tabletop LEDs provided lighting. When shooting with the 1000fps feature, 2 seconds of real time becomes a whopping 80 seconds of slow-motion video.
