Columbus, Ohio – Big Lots is bilingual with the launch today of Big Lots Latino, a new Spanish-language information hub for the discounter’s Hispanic customer base.

Big Lots’ new Latino online venue aims to provide “culturally relevant information” by way of tips and ideas on home decor, beauty and health, food and recipes.

“Big Lots wants to be a part of the online conversations our customers are having about our brands,” said Andrew Stein, svp, chief customer officer. “As a leading discount retailer, it’s important for us to understand what resonates with her and deliver information in ways that help her make more informed purchasing decisions.”

Along with Big Lots Latino, the company also recently expanded its social media presence with Spanish language pages on Facebook and Twitter and has collaborated with some leading Latina bloggers – including Kathy Cano-Murillo of Crafty Chica, Pattie Cordova of Living Mi Vida Loca, and Rocio Chavez of Your Sassy Self – to present trends in DIY projects.
