Two Southwest Airlines planes clipped wings Saturday on the tarmac of a California airport when one of the aircrafts backed into the other after passengers boarded, officials said.

The two aircrafts were standing “side by side” after loading travelers at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank when a Sacramento-bound plane pushed back from the gate and bumped into the other flight, airline and airport officials said.

There were no reported injuries, and both planes were taken out of service for inspection after the National Transportation Safety Board was notified about 7:30 a.m.

Both flights were ready to depart, carrying slightly more than 100 passengers in each aircraft, Southwest Airlines said. The plane that was hit was heading to Phoenix.

The incident did not affect the airport’s operations, but passengers on both planes were moved back into the terminal, Bob Hope Airport spokesman Victor Gill said.

“Our employees worked as quickly as possible to re-accommodate all customers,” Southwest said in a statement. “Safety is our number one focus and we are conducting an internal review to identify the details surrounding today’s event.”
