SAN JOSE — Two San Jose residents have been arrested in connection with a home-invasion robbery where a teen was tied up while the suspects ransacked the home, police said.

Christopher Nguyen and Tiffany Nguyen, both 19, were arrested in connection with the July 30 robbery on the 7000 block of Anjou Creek Circle, according to San Jose police. During an investigation, detectives pinpointed Christopher Nguyen as the person who broke into the home while a 17-year-old slept inside. When the teen heard glass breaking, he went out to see what was going on. That was when Christopher Nguyen, armed with a handgun, confronted the teen and bound him with zip ties, police said.

Christopher Nguyen then proceeded to take things from the home, police said. Police added that Tiffany Nguyen served as a lookout during the incident.

Police had previously said the teen was not hurt in the incident and was able to free himself from the zip ties before calling for help.

Both Christopher Nguyen and Tiffany Nguyen were arrested by San Jose police on Oct. 23 and were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of robbery, false imprisonment, conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
