Police: Two men shot in Syracuse; both victims were 'uncooperative'

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse police say two men were shot in the lower right leg Sunday night in the 1400 block of South State Street in the city.

But when officers arrived at 1471 S. State St. for a report of a shooting, the 19-year-old and 26-year-old victims were "uncooperative," Syracuse police Lt. Eric Carr said in a news release. Both men who had been shot told police they had been shot at a different location, Carr said in the release. But the investigation found the men actually had been shot in the 1400 block of S. State St., police said.

Rural Metro Ambulance took both victims to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Police did not release the victims' names, but said their injuries are not life threatening.

Anyone with information about the double shooting can call Syracuse police at (315) 442-5222.
