KENTWOOD, MI — Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday.
The restaurant at 3684 28th St. SE in Kentwood has closed its doors for good, according to a sign posted on the front door.
Workers busy removing façade elements on Thursday, May 1 said they believed the store closed on Sunday, April 27.
The sign thanked guests for patronizing the restaurant for “20 wonderful years.”
The property was managed by CWD Real Estate and is owned by Jade Pig Ventures.
It’s not immediately clear whether the store was a franchise or a corporate-owned location. The publicly traded Ruby Tuesday chain has been struggling lately. Messages sent to media representatives for the chain were not returned.
Ruby Tuesday has been overhauling menus and closing underperforming stores in a bid to lift sales, according to the Restaurant News.
The Maryville, Tenn.-based chain has closed more than 30 locations in the past year and more closings are planned within the brand that has more than 700 locations.
