Two national retailers, Rack Room Shoes and Marshalls, are opening new locations at a Fort Oglethorpe shopping center this month.
Rack Room Shoes plans to open its store today at Parkway Plaza shopping center.
Marshalls will unveil its new retail site at the Battlefield Parkway center on March 26.
Rack Room Shoes Regional Manager Jon Cobb said Parkway Plaza offers a more convenient footwear destination for Fort Oglethorpe families.
"We wanted to give local customers the opportunity to shop for their footwear needs in their own community," he said in a statement.
Cobb expects the retailer's athletic and comfort selection, especially brands such as Adidas, Nike, Skechers and Timberland, to be among the store's top sellers.
Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 6 p.m.
Off-price retailer Marshalls will hold its grand opening March 26 from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Festivities will include giveaways, gift card prizes and more at the 24,000-square-foot store.
"The new Fort Oglethorpe store will be stocked weekly with a new, fresh assortment of the brand name and designer merchandise that our shoppers love," Marshalls President Richard Sherr said in a statement Wednesday.
Rack Room already has stores in the region in East Brainerd, Cleveland, Tenn., and Dalton, Ga.
Marshalls has Chattanooga stores in Hixson and East Brainerd.
Chattanooga-based shopping center company CBL & Associates Properties Inc. developed Parkway Plaza, which also includes a Hobby Lobby and Petco. Parkway Plaza has 134,000 square feet of retail space and is adjacent to Walmart.
"Parkway Plaza is well-located and its retail lineup will add attractive shopping choices to this highly trafficked retail corridor," said Michael Lebovitz, CBL's executive vice president for development and administration, last year when the center was announced.
