LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Former International Paper employees will soon get help with their job search, thanks to the government.

The U.S. Department of Labor is offering more than $800,000 to help former employees find jobs.

The money will help 1,100 of the former employees with resume assistance, assessment, counseling, relocation guidance and other services.

The paper plant closed its Lawrence County location in 2014.
