Gilani, who is also the senior vice president of Pakistan Peoples Party, blamed Nawaz Sharif for behaving more like the prime minister of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)than that of the country.
“He does not care about the country. In the last two months, every step of Nawaz and PML-N shows their political immaturity to resolve the situation,” he added. He said that many seats of national and provincial assemblies will go vacant in next two months and PPP will contest for every seat in every election. Gilani is also running a political campaign in NA-149 for Javed Siddiqi who is the candidate of PPP and is struggling for the political space.
“Pakistan is no more an easy country to rule because its people have now started to fight for their right.” This has in fact ended the space for a dictator and if a politician will act like a dictator, he will die the worst living death in his motherland, said Gilani.
Talking about the statement of Khursheed Shah regarding the midterm polls, he called it a reality saying “it has to be decided sooner or later”.
He said that all institutions will act according to law only when we will empower our parliament. “They all work automatically in their legal jurisdiction and there will be no space of activism for any institution but parliament needs support from democracy.”

If this is so then why did you hand over your matter to that times' NA Speaker Fehmida Mirza when Supreme Court issued you content of court notice and disqualified you from premiership? Now you are saying so when you have been disqualified and not on premiership even you don't have MNA's seat from NA 151.What the statement you gave Yousuf Raza Gillani!!!!!
Without prejudice to anyone, the moment GO NAWAZ GO was heard for the 1st time PM Nawaz should have at least started thinking to pack up rather than waiting till the whole country buzzes with GO NAWAZ GO. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi
Gilani wants to grab pti as at this moment pti needs support to survive .
How would he have handed over the baton? Under which mechanism and rule of the constitution? What stuff are our leaders made of that they shout off ther mouths without thinking?
You would have handed power to IK if Zardari would have allowed, which he wouldn't have. You did not have any independent decision making powers in actuality. So what you are saying is just not true. If you would have been given the independence to make your own decision, yes, you might have caved in since you can easily buckle under pressure, as you lack moral courage, also because of your involvement in shady deals. Besides, there is no Constitutional way to hand over power to IK as he does not have a majority in the Parliament. Incumbency is not a private property that can be transferred at will. Please stop making useless statements and misleading the public for your own good and for the good of the public at large.
We love Nawaz Sharif. He is a mature politician and businessman who can turn the economy around. Unlike the agents of powerful forces who are creating instability in the country, PML N is focusing on the economy and finalizing deals with China.
People are waking up very fast for their rights. Not a good sign for PPP. Soon they will chant the slogan " Go Zardari Go ".
@feya: Yes , thanks for that.
Great man mr gillani speaking truth finaly ...
A very demeaning statement against the whole nation, This shows the mentality of PPP and other political parties, that the people were given no rights and should not expect any rights. Shame on leaders lke these.
IK / TuQ dharnas has opened the can of worms & unveiled the abhorrent practices of people in power & of those living in glass house call " Parliament ". It is a " national awakening ". IK / TuQ has made people aware of their rights by giving them lectures on each & every aspect of political & moral values, each & every day & night. That is why people are now more conscious of their rights under the constitution....this sort of dharnas by a leader need commitment, resilience & perseverance, which both IK / TuQ & their team has shown for the 40 days....this is an achievement by itself. None from the present political parties have that much stamina, organization & committed followers....a reality which has to be accepted. That is the reason, there seem a paradigm shift in the tone of PPP & soon many will have to join the chorus...GO NAWAZ GO ! insha Allah.
In 2013 elections, people party and pti's defeat was real. we never saw so accurate voter lists with pictures of voters. i personally voted in lahore and pti was checking every voter with original nid and photo.
encouraged from pti, the ppp punjab also is decieving themselves to claim their defeat was not real. Aetizaz Hassan's wife only got seven thousand votes and still he claims that his wife was defeated due to rigging. Defeated politicians never accept defeat in pakistan.
The current movement to discredit elections which were rated by neutral and international observers as the most transparent in pakistan's history definitely has some backing of vested interests. The amount of money being spent on dharnas and political violance is amazing.
It was further to pakistani's disappointment , the information that Imran Khan who has a lavish life style with expensive vehicles and big houses only paid rs:195000 income tax, less than me who can not think of that standards of life being enjoyed by IK.
Whenever pakistani people give overwhelming mandate to one party, then most parties are loosers and start saying they were defeated by dhandhli. In pakistani one party gov. is opposed as most parties are left out. in Coalition many parties get adjusted so they do not hue and cry. The prime minister started great effort to revive Pakistan economy but international factors(Increasing china's role in our region is not liked by India+america) and domestic power games and establishments overwhelming influence has breaken down nthe momentum.
If we want to progress, i request every pakistani to support prime minister, who has not done any thing wrong. We shall not become hostage of money seeking media.
@Alter Ego: Kettle*
They often sound sweet when in opposition. But I guess its the pressure created by millions of Pakistanis who are behind Imran Khan... that is making people say such words. Way to go Imran, we surely will see Naya Pakistan soon, real soon!!!!
very soon there will be GO Zardari Go along with go nawaz go.... both looting the country ...in turn
Imran Khan should spell out clearly the policies that he is espousing. Just "GO NAWAZ GO" means little or nothing. What is his policy regarding feudalism? Should America continue to violate Pakistan’s air space and kill innocent people? Should Pakistan help American occupation of a neighboring Muslim country {Afghanistan}? Any plans to bring peace to Karachi? In what way the ordinary lives of people in Pakistan change? Should he create immediately a province comprising Waziristan and give powers to the province to maintain peace and tranquility in that area? Will he stop military operations which have created thousands of refugees? These are the questions he should address before he can be taken seriously.
Mr. Gilani, why don't you leave Pakistan if you don't like how its run Mr. Gilani? I believe this is what you said when you were PM.
Hard to believe the statement coming from the former Prime Minister?. It simply shows that he was not suitable for the post. The current Prime Minister should ask for vote of confidence or for polls or for a National unity Government, neither status quo nor relying on the army support are not good recipes institutions.

Where is actual definition of 'ruling', it should have been easier to rule now, where people are vigilant to point out any mistakes committed on part of govts but..
A man with little credibility......should keep his mouth shut.
PTI's struggle is to change the bogas system first, it is not about coming into power straight away, even i won't support PTI for this.. They should fix all the issues with election commission, make proper electoral reforms and then come forward fair and Square.. So no one can question the athority of any government in future... #goNwazGo
Its no wonder PPP Punjab based politician has more agressive views than their Party leadership majorty of Sindh as they are more damaged in Punjab than anyone else. they bound to face off with PMLN and they want to erase the image of friendly opposition but they are wrong in judgement of people of Pakistan who have already decided to challanage the status quo at any cost to save their children future.
Who did build expensive flyovers in Multan? I mean, after decades of corrupt leadership they start talking about the others?
You were a remote control PM with corruption cases hanging over your head. Of course it would be easy for you.
This person even talking sense can NEVER be trusted, Dont forget when he was PM he said which ever Pakistani is not happy with current situation under his rule should leave Pakistan. There must be an agenda behind him talking good for once.
“Pakistan is no more an easy country to rule because its people have now started to fight for their right.” How sad.
Pakistan is not an easy to country to rule now... so finally ppp awakes....thanks pti...pml N....إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
What most people fail to realise is that you cannot hand over premiership to Imran or anyone else. You are.supposed to go through a process to elect leaders /governments.
What guarantees Imran a win, he's dancing around, as if he's already chosen to run the country. Bringing 30-40k people to protest is no way instant victory. I would say MR IK you have alot to learn yet, those few around you have also jumped ship and now joined you. They are no angels and they will be doing the plundering sooner - rather than later.
Go Nawaz Go--- who is a problem for IK and the group Nawaz shariff or PML-N as a whole.( the democratic system itself). .. Adamant on resignation of the government and re election means that IK wants the system to continue. . so election commission or something alike would continue. so next time the loosing party ( be it PML - N ,PPP, MQM OR even PTI will not blame rigging of polls and endless re election using the similar street power. ) Why not demand/ insist on election reforms and if the government does not agree then exert pressure. May be shorten the election interval at 4 years than the existing -5- years.Let it be mandatory to declare every contestant to declare their assets/ annual income every year within a time frame with a penalty to disqualify the assembly memberships on failing to do so. Their assets be mentioned on the public domain to keep a check on it. Transparency will check corruption. Reform to decentralize power / governance at the local level with Check and Balance. Authoritarian rule in any form is immune to any accountability and power without any check is bound to be worse over a period.
Pot calling the cattle black.
Look who's talking
...but I would never have returned the looted money
This Govt is like a leaking tanker, Everyone is bailing now. PM is little slow to see this, would be a bit of a understatement.
He speaks sense but does so under pressure from PTI and his own workers. PPP is slowly but surely building pressure on Nawaz. I'm pretty sure he must be feeling the heat from inside his own party. The stance that democracy =Nawaz will haunt the party in the next elections.
The comment on People fighting for their rights from someone who said why don't they all leave shows us what GO NAWAZ GO has done ! Say it a million times, say it every day, every minute, every second and every breath ! GO NAWAZ GO !
