Train services are facing disruption as work to build a new railway station at Rochester and improve signalling on the network in Medway continues.

The work in Kent on Sunday and Monday will see replacement buses in operation between Faversham and Gillingham.

Network Rail said no trains would serve stations between Rainham and Teynham and Sittingbourne to Sheerness.

Track maintenance is also being carried out at Haslemere in Surrey, and between Horsham and Arundel in West Sussex.

And maintenance is also being carried on tracks between Ashford, Maidstone East and Kemsing.

Work to rebuild London Bridge station as part of the £6.5bn Thameslink programme has also continued over the long bank holiday weekend.

Charing Cross, Cannon Street and Waterloo East stations are all closed until Monday, and Southeastern services are not calling at London Bridge with the exception of trains to and from Hastings in East Sussex.

Passengers have been advised to check with their operator before travelling.
