Target Corp. (TGT) Has Surged To A New High On Better Than Expected Q3 Profit

Target Corp. (TGT) reported third quarter adjusted EPS of $0.54 Wednesday morning, compared to $0.56 a year ago. Analysts expected EPS of $0.47. Fourth quarter adjusted EPS is expected to be between $1.13 and $1.23, compared to the consensus estimate of $1.22. The company now expects to report full year adjusted EPS of $3.15 to $3.25, compared to prior expectations of $3.10 to $3.30. Analysts are expecting EPS of $3.19.

Target gapped open sharply higher Wednesday morning and is now up 3.34 at $70.85 on above average volume. The stock has been rising steadily for nearly 2 weeks and has set a new high for the year.
