Portsmouth police log: April 16-17

April 16

6:19 a.m.: Caller from Redhook Way reported a person in the woods they would like escorted off the property.

7:40 a.m.: Caller reported he saw a syringe by the garage on Deer Street. Item not found.

8:08 a.m.: Caller on Redhook Way reported a “homeless male” digging through their recyclables looking for whole bottle of beer. Male not found, but a barment letter was prepared in case someone sees him.

8:41 a.m.: Report taken for tax fraud on Hillside Drive.

9:54 a.m.: Caller requested a civil standby at a Rockland Street location so he could go inside his apartment to get his birth certificate. He said bail conditions prevented him from going into this location. Determined he needed to go through the Portsmouth Housing Authority and set it up with them, as it was not a police matter.

10:19 a.m.: Report taken about a damaged period light, valued at $2,400, at Portwalk Place and Hanover Street.

12:09 p.m.: Arrested Kristen M. Donlan, 37, of 9 Weald Road on charges alleging a suspended registration and driving after revocation or suspension.

12:42 p.m.: Arrested Paul J. Durkin, 46, of 3 Chapman Road, Stratham, on a charge alleging unsworn falsification.

2:07 p.m.: Report taken for two-car motor vehicle accident with no injury in a parking lot on Lafayette Road.

2:30 p.m.: Department of Public Works brought a bike found on State Street to the police station.

2:44 p.m.: Well-being check requested from third party caller from Rockingham County jail concerned for a male making suicidal threats and that he has an unknown room number at Wren’s Nest. Subject was not found to be a guest there. Caller from the jail said she was going to call the male’s wife to see which hotel he was at and call the appropriate agency when she got the information.

3:12 p.m.: Trespass letter served to an unwanted male at a Wedgewood Road address.

3:52 p.m.: Assisted Fire Department with a cigarette stand “on fire with lots of smoke” in Market Square.

16:09 p.m. Staff at hotel on Borthwick Avenue called for assistance with a patron who “trashed a room filled with feces and vomit.” Subject was at the front desk trying to get another room. He was found to be staying there for a few months and served a trespass letter and given a few hours to get everything out of the room.

4:10 p.m.: Report taken for identification theft from a tax return on Elwyn Avenue.

4:43 p.m.: Assisted another police department with a potentially suicidal teenager who left the Emergency Room and was “screaming at the top of her lungs” and trying to get into her mother’s locked vehicle. Female brought back inside and is working with the staff.

6:24 p.m.: Caller on McDonough Street said a male took off in a silver CRV toward Islington Street. Said he was very intoxicated and had just lost his girlfriend. A “be on the lookout” was issued and police checked the area and was unable to find him.

7:30 p.m.: Caller reported his mother and her boyfriend were highly intoxicated at a Wedgewood Road address. Caller was on his way to Logan Airport to get his father, and he wants them to leave. Couple left and kids are with a neighbor.

9:58 p.m.: Assisted Fire Department with a man who locked himself out of a home on Maplewood Avenue where he was dog sitting.

10:05 p.m.: Verbal warning given to a woman on Durgin Lane for an open container. She was waiting for a ride from someone from Dover.

10:07 p.m.: Arrested Chad R. Thomas, 33, of 62 Green St., Apt. 105, Somersworth on a charge of indecent exposure and lewdness.

11:13 p.m.: Caller reported a male on the corner of Union and Middle streets with a dog who was looking into house windows.

11:27 p.m. Caller at a Middle Street apartment said a male was looking in her windows for 45 minutes to an hour. Made contact with the male who denied looking into windows.

April 17

1:23 a.m.: Arrested Portia Echo Bick, 24, of 245 Middle St., Apt. 217, on charges alleging theft (removing merchandise from premise.)
