Disney’s $26m media pitch down to two
The $26m media pitch to be the Australian agency for global entertainment brand Disney is down to two agencies, Mumbrella understands.
The pitch originally saw four media agencies line up for Melbourne based client with incumbent Carat facing off against challengers Ikon, PHD and Starcom.
It is understood that the pitch is now a shoot-out between DentsuAegis agency Carat and Omnicom shop PHD.
Mumbrella revealed the account, which covers Disney’s movie division, theme parks, publishing, merchandising and TV Channels including the Disney Channel and ESPN, was up for pitch in February.
All agencies contacted declined to comment.
According to Nielsen, The Walt Disney Company had an estimated main media spend of $26.1m in the 12 months until December 2014.

No surprise there. Carat had been the incumbent in Europe for many years and Publicis Group’s 4D unit in the USA. OMD recently won the USA and UK but OMD have Village Roadshow here, hence PHD get a look in. Carat are a strong incumbent though.
