Vu1 Launches Energy-Efficient ESL R30 Light Bulb

Vu1 design and produces non-mercury, power efficient lighting technology products.

The company recently declared that it has miniaturized electronic components in the second edition of its Electron Stimulated Luminescence R30 light bulb. The products will be available to customers from the end of March 2011.

The device deploys accelerated electrons in an endeavor to activate phosphor and generate light. This feature allows the surface of the bulb to glow and emit light that has a natural quality for almost 10,000 h. The product will measure 5.37” in length and will suit all US recessed can lighting applications. It is dimmable and conserves energy. It is also non-toxic and offers close to incandescent light.

According to William B. Smith, Chairman of Vu1, recent sales in the private sector have been able to support quick changeover to full automation of the production process, allowing the company to reduce overall costs while enhancing the quality and performance of their products.
