WPS Foundation marks 50th anniversary with donations

Wisconsin Public Service Foundation marked its 50th anniversary by making donations to nonprofit organizations designated by 50 randomly selected employees of Integrys Energy Group and its subsidiaries.

Wisconsin Public Service Corp.'s headquarters.

The foundation made $250 donations to each of the chosen organizations.

Among local organizations receiving donations were Allouez Optimists-Miracle League, Bay Area Humane Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Wisconsin, Cerebral Palsy Inc., Colton's Cure, Cub Scout Pack 4201, Denmark Fire Department, Door County Communications Foundation-Restoration Little Lake Fund, Freedom House, Golden House and Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity.

Also Green Bay Boy Choir and Girl Choir, Hospital Sisters of St. Frances Foundation, House of Hope, NEW Community Shelter, Northeast Wisconsin Chapter for the American Red Cross, Paul's Pantry, Rainbow House, Rebuilding Together of Greater Green Bay, Salvation Army of Brown County, The Green Bay Acres Boxer, West De Pere Youth Organization and Young Life Green Bay.

Donations totaled $12,500. Since its creation, the foundation provided $29 million in grants, scholarships and donations. The foundation is funded by Integrys Energy Group shareholders.
