Cantel Medical names replacement for retiring CFO

Cantel Medical Corp. on Friday announced it has named a new chief financial officer to replace the retiring Craig A. Sheldon.The Little Falls-based medical products company said in a news release that Peter G. Clifford will take over as executive vice president and CFO, effective Monday. Sheldon, whose retirement was previously announced, will remain with the company as an executive vice president through mid-May to ease the transition.

“With over 20 years in the manufacturing and industrial space, Peter Clifford brings a wealth of senior executive management experience to Cantel,” Andrew Krakauer, Cantel’s CEO, said in a prepared statement. “In addition to his financial reporting, controllership and other finance and accounting expertise, Peter has an extensive background in leading and building global teams, M&A and related integrations, international business and information technology.”

Clifford had been vice president of operations finance and information technology for IDEX Corporation for the past six years. During his time with the Illinois fluidics company, he also served as CFO for all three of its operating divisions at various times. He has also spent time with Gast Manufacturing and General Electric, Cantel said.

“Peter is the ideal candidate to succeed Craig, who has played such a major role in the company’s development during his 20-year tenure,” Krakauer said.
