Police Blotter: Shoplifting Suspect Caught After Chase Was Wearing 3 Pairs Of Pants

Chattanooga Police said a shoplifting suspect, caught after a pursuit by vehicle and foot, was wearing three pairs of pants.

Police said Taylor Worley was wearing two pair of pants stolen from Belks worth $86 under another pair of pants.

City officer Lockhart, working an extra job at Dillards at Hamilton Place, got word that a white male was attempting to return stolen merchandise.

He said he then saw store employees chasing a man matching the description given.

The officer joined in the foot chase. After the suspect got into a silver Infiniti G35, he followed by car and stopped the vehicle at the nearby I-75 on ramp. Worley, who was a passenger in the vehicle, jumped out and fled into nearby woods. He was finally caught.

Police said Worley, 21, of 8133 E. Brainerd Road, had been trying to return pants to Belk that he had allegedly stolen from Dillards.

Worley, who was charged with theft and evading arrest, had a probation violation on previous aggravated burglary and theft charges, police said.

Neal Patel of the Motel 6 on Williams Street said he got word that a blonde white female had taken a TV from one of the rooms.

He said there had been recent TV thefts from rooms at the motel.

The manager went to the woman's vehicle and found a 32" Phillips flatscreen TV that belongs to the motel.

The suspects fled.

A female resident of W. 14th Street Court said a neighbor called to say that on his way to work he saw someone pouring sugar in her gas tank.

Police found the gas lid open and sugar in the fill neck as well as the ground.

The repair job was estimated at $400.

A woman at East Lake Courts said a piece of concrete was thrown through her front window.

Officers located the broken window and the missile used.

The woman said five minutes before the incident that "Monkey D" came by to ask about his cell phone. She said she told him she did not have it.

She said "Monkey D" is her prime suspect.
