Whiting Petroleum Corp. (WLL) Is Sinking After 35 Million Share Stock Offering

Whiting Petroleum Corp. (WLL) announced Tuesday morning that it has priced a public offering of 35,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price of $30.00 per share. The company also priced $1.0 billion aggregate principal amount of 1.25% convertible senior notes due 2020 in a private unregistered offering.

Whiting Petroleum has gapped open dramatically lower this morning, following a delayed opening. Shares are now down 7.82 at $30.57 on strong volume. The stock has dropped to nearly a 2-month low.
