Tiruvannamalai sports complex to get synthetic track soon

A synthetic track will soon be set up in Tiruvannamalai district sports complex as the union government has sanctioned a project in this regard, said Hemant Kumar Sinha, Additional Principal Secretary to TamilNadu government, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department.

He said this while inspecting a district sports complex here on Tuesday. He also said that refurbished, air-conditioned gymnasium with new equipments in addition to the existing ones would soon be launched in the complex.

Mr.Sinha also inspected the multi-purpose indoor stadium being constructed at a cost of Rs.3.6 crore in the complex. He wanted the authorities to complete the works and commission the facility in a month’s time.

While inspecting the sports hostel for girls located near the complex he asked the authorities to provide fruits to the inmates apart from providing nutrient food. He asked the medical authorities to conduct a general check up for the inmates.

Mr.Sinha wanted to spruce up the swimming pool in the complex and make the swimming training programme accessible to the public. District Collector A.Gnanasekaran, Rathnavel, Executive Engineer, buildings division of Public Works Department, N. Charles Manohar, Senior Zonal Manager, Sports Development Authority of TamilNadu and District Sports Officer K.Pugazhendhi were present during the inspection.
