Gov. Cuomo Imposes Total Driving Ban After 11 p.m.

"We are restricting travel on all roads in the 13 counties south of Orange and Sullivan," said Gov. Andrew Cuomo Monday afternoon.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo Monday imposed a total ban on driving after 11 p.m. tonight in Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

“We are restricting travel on all roads in the 13 counties south of Orange and Sullivan,” he said during a press conference. “For all roads—state, local, city, town roads. If you violate this state order, it’s a possible misdemeanor with fines up to $300.”

The travel ban will be in effect until officials can assess the progress of the storm and the clean-up.

“We have emergency personnel who need to get places,” he said, describing the chain-reaction blockage that happens when just one or two cars get stuck.
